PEDOSPHERE, a peer-reviewed international journal published bimonthly in English, was founded in 1991 (ISSN: 1002-0160). The current Editor-in-Chief is Prof. REN FANG SHEN, President of the Soil Science Society of China, and Director of the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. PEDOSPHERE is published by Science Press and Elsevier B.V., sponsored by Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Soil Science Society of China; China Agricultural University; Nanjing Agricultural University; South China Agricultural University; and Zhejiang University.
PEDOSPHERE publishes timely, high-quality original research findings, especially up-to-date achievements and advances in soil science and related field studies dealing with environmental science, ecology, agriculture, bioscience, geoscience, forestry, etc., from scientists all over the world. Its areas of particular interest include: soil physics; soil chemistry; soil biology and biochemistry; soil fertility and plant nutrition; soil resources and use; soil mineralogy; soil environment and ecology; soil and water conservation; forest, range, and wetland soils; soil salinity and management; soil and plant analysis and technology; and soil gases and global change. The top-quality findings and research will be considered for priority publication.
The Editorial Committee of PEDOSPHERE is composed of worldwide renowned soil scientists from 27 countries. More than 80% of the members are from outside China, such as USA, UK, France, Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Japan, Austria, New Zealand, Israel, Russia, Poland, and India, including winners of prestigious international awards such as the John Dalton Award (Prof. Kurt ROTH), the von Liebig Award (Prof. Donold L. SPARKS, Prof. Rattan LAL), the Humboldt Research Award (Prof. Zed RENGEL) and the Werner Nelson Award (Prof. Jerry L. HATFIELD), the Dokuchaev Award (Prof. Alex B. MCBRATNEY), 13 members having served or currently serving as the president of the soil science society of their respective countries and/or the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS), and several “ISI Highly Cited Authors” (Prof. Herbert E. ALLEN, Prof. Rattern LAL, etc.).
With 45% from China, those from over 30 countries outside China, such as USA, UK, France, Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Austria, New Zealand, Israel, Russia, Poland, India, Thailand, Pakistan, Greece, Syria, and South Africa, have accounted for more than 55% of the total.
The Audience of PEDOSPHERE includes scientific and technical researchers and workers as well as university and college teachers and students related to soil science, environmental science, ecology, bioscience, geoscience, agriculture, forestry, etc., from more than 89 countries and regions of the world.
